The Loyalties We Break

Book 1 in The Alphathletes Series by Katelyn Taylor

Erica and Trevor have been best friends since childhood, and of course, they would end up dating. Trevor is the first to go to college. Not only is a long-distance relationship complicated, but once there, he marvels at all he can get on campus. Football, girls, parties. Life shifts for both of them. Now it’s her turn, and once she gets there, they are supposed to meet, but they miss each other and Erica meets Sebastian, and boy, things heat up!

Trevor comes from a rich family. He has good looks, plays football and he’s the star of the team. Even though he screws up quite a lot, he is a caring person and a good friend to everyone. Erica also comes from a rich background, but with overbearing parents, who had already mapped out her future. If her relationship with her parents taught her something, it was that happiness comes before money. Erica is a down-to-earth, humble woman who believes in people, and she sees beyond Sebastian’s skin. His upbringing was a hard one. He doesn’t come from a rich family. His background is troubled, and he keeps things to himself. He has a good heart, but he’s also a fighter, and Erica brings out the possessive alpha in him.

Their love triangle and college life were perfectly written. The football matches are well narrated. I could see myself there cheering for them. And when I wondered how much deeper the characters could get, they blew me away. There is much more to them than meets the eye, you’ll be surprised.

Trevor does everything he can to win her back while she has a torrid, swooning romance with a dirty talker, Sebastian. The flow between them is so enthralling that I couldn’t stop reading until the end. So, do yourself a favor and buckled up, because some heart wrenching moments, struggles, secrets that come to life, twists you don’t see coming, and toe curling scorching hot moments will take you for a wild ride, and you’ll fall in love with all three of them, and the end fits like a glove. If you’re a fan of college romance, love triangles and characters that are not afraid to grab life by the horns, I totally recommend The Loyalties We Break!!! I can't wait for the next one. Can I give 10 stars???
